Nutrition Tip: Beware of Empty Calories

Junk Food

Did you know that overeating causes a signal to be sent to your brain that suppresses appetite so that you’ll refrain from further eating? Consuming empty-calorie foods (i.e. candy and other sweets, junk/fast food, soft drinks, and alcohol) causes this signal to be dramatically delayed, as well as the message to your brain that you’re full and, as a result, you’re more likely to consume such foods in excess. This is why "No One Can Eat Just One..."
